PO – Opole Campus

Opole University of Technology

Opole University of Technology is a modern technical university, with a nearly 50-year tradition. We offer education in 24 programs of study. You can study some standard technical disciplines, such as construction or information technology, but also administration, economics, physiotherapy or architecture. This rich offer also includes postgraduate and doctoral studies and a wide range of courses and trainings.

Those curious and willing to gain valuable experience can become participants of the implemented university student exchange programs (e.g. the Erasmus program) and easily go for one or two semesters to one of over 100 of our partner universities abroad! The University cooperates with American universities and diplomatic posts. As one of four centres in the country, it offers a number of attractive courses and activities within the framework of the Confucius Institute (Centre for Cooperation Poland-China), which promotes knowledge about the Middle Kingdom.

The Student Sports Association operating at our university is very active. It gathers more than 1,700 students in 30 competitive and recreational sections. Participation in leagues and achievements at national and international competitions prove that the sports spirit at the University of Technology is in great shape. Students can use the well-equipped sports hall with an indoor running track, gym and mirror dance hall. Campus II has an indoor Olympic-size swimming pool. Such champions as our graduate and a great Olympic champion Zbigniew Bródka train and study here!

Students can count on a wide range of scholarships (with one of the highest amounts in the country), both academic and social scholarships, aid for students with disabilities, and also scholarships funded by the city of Opole and the ministry.

Opole University of Technology implements a series of measures aimed at elimination of architectural and mental barriers to make the university a place friendly to people with disabilities and to ensure equal access to knowledge and professional skills to all persons, regardless of their health condition. The university has its Representative for Persons with Disabilities. It is known for the modern and innovative laboratories. The leading companies of the Polish and foreign markets willingly equip our laboratories with specialized equipment, which will prepare our graduate to work at the end of his or her studies in a well-paid profession.

Specialized equipment allows the scientists and students e.g. for simulation of earthquakes, investigation of high voltage and infrasound, or work with the humanoid robot NAO. Within the conducted research, we explore e.g. the technologies of modern building materials, mathematical modeling of fatigue processes for industry, high-precision machining tools, construction materials for the most advanced technology. Together with the industry, we study such phenomena as biological and biomechanical factors associated with the development of locomotor dysfunctions and we are establishing Opole research and development centre jointly with ifm ecolink.
